Meet Andrew Orozco - Dancer/Model/Actor

Image
For those of you who are not familiar with Andrew, he played “Parody Sam” in The Hillywood Show‘s “Eclipse Parody“. He’s also modeled for the 2011 21st Century Skins Native Men’s Calendar. And most recently, Andrew has signed on as a vampire in the movie adaptation for the new age young adult novel: Of Light and Darkness, by Shayne Leighton, and Decadent Publishing.

Of Light and Darkness is available for purchase in eBook and paperback formats on Amazon and other online merchants.
WHO IS ANDREW OROZCO?Andrew is a Model, an Actor, and a Dancer. Not necessarily in that order though. I met Andrew at an autograph signing event in North Carolina for the book OLaD - Of Light and Darkness by Shayne Leighton (If you like YA vampire reads this is for you – go buy it, and read it before the movie comes out). My son and daughter wanted a photo with the men from OLaD (Michael Welch, Johnny Pacar & Andrew). We had to squish in a small corner behind a table and in front of their folding chairs …

Interview with Artist, Michael Brown

Image
Born into a family of artists in St Louis, Michael Brown can't remember life before art. He currently resides in Kansas City. Seeing Michael’s art brings many emotions to the surface. His art is very detailed, you can feel and see the emotion in the subjects he draws. It’s pretty powerful stuff. He has mad talent!...Those are just a few things said of his work.

Michael, thank you for participating in this interview. I’ve followed you on facebook for over a year now, and I can’t quite remember how I found you, but I’m glad I did. I love seeing your artwork, and the daily quotes always give me something to think about. I wanted to be able to share that with others, and here’s my chance. Do you go by Michael, or Mike? Either is fine, really. I have to ask, do you enjoy reading? If so, what genre’s? I thoroughly enjoy reading; I've had a love for books and reading dating back to early childhood. I don't have an exact genre of books that I read, I go across the board, it…

She turned around, sadness in her eyes.

Interview with a Blogger

Image
Everyone, meet Megan McDade. This is quite the unique interview. Instead of doing the questioning, my guest will be on the other side of things. Megan is a YA blogger from the UK. She is a self proclaimed book addict, and has got to be one of the nicest people out there.

Megan is the owner of the blog site: Reading away the days! This woman does so much for so little. Well, in all actuality she does it all for FREE! Read on to see what I'm talkin' about!

Megan, thank you for being my guest! Can you tell me when you first realized you were in love with books and reading?
Thanks so much for the interview Natalie. I am excited. I have loved reading and books for as long as I can remember. When I was very young I was never one for playing with dolls and Barbies. I remember having this big blue basket full of colouring books, writing pads and books that I would bring everywhere with me. I just loved books! And it continued as I grow up. My mum has always been a big reader, always has…

What's in a PEN name?

Image
I love my name... There I said it.

So why wouldn't I use it for my pen name?
I love to hear stories of how and why people got their names. Most of the time there is a story within the story. Some are named after relatives that meant a lot to the family (or the parent who got to pick out the name), some were named after the hero who helped birth them en route to the hospital, some were named so just because it sounded good, some named for a special day and so many more reasons than I could possibly list here.

Me? Well, I was originally Magdeline Lucille (Mom wanted to call me Maggie Lou - and she does on occasion - lucky me!). BTW, those are the names of my paternal and maternal grandmothers. I was born prematurely on Christmas; my due date was close to Valentine’s Day, so yeah, I kinda confused the holidays.

So where did the Natalie part come in?
I have a receipt in my scrapbooking box somewhere that shows my parents changed my name while I was still an infant and they had to…

Part Two - The Girls

Image
I wrote a YA novel aimed towards teen fans of urban fantasy/paranormal romance. Before my journey started I never thought to ask my target audience what their feelings were towards reading. Well, I decided to find out. I asked six teens to participate in my little interview. Five were willing (two boys and three girls). The sixth I never heard from, but they might be on Facebook restriction, and we can’t argue with that now, can we?

Today’s interview is with the teen girls. The girls are from different backgrounds, but have soccer as a common interest. (To see Part One of this interview with the boys click here). Jen=Jennifer is in 9th grade and enjoys soccer.
R=Ruby is in 10th grade and keeps busy with; volleyball, tennis, soccer and music.
J=Julia is in 9th grade and she plays field hockey and soccer.

1. What is your favorite genre to read?
Jen- Fantasy, and romance.
R- Fantasy, sci-fi, romance, suspense, action/adventure… A little bit of everything.
J- Suspense with a little romance…
